The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saint's doctrine is plain and simple a child can understand it. Those who are church members sometimes find themselves not fully understanding the doctrine to the point when a stranger asks them a question they end up not knowing what to say. Their are several ways to gain knowledge of the doctrine that you can bring into your daily scripture studies. Or if your new to the doctrine it will help you gain knowledge that will strengthen your testimony of the truth thereof.

1)The Doctrinal Mastery Core Manual and scriptural passages.

If you want to learn more about the doctrine this is a great place to start. I ended up highlighting the scriptural passages in my scriptures with tiny post it notes.

Here is the entire guide:https://www.lds.org/manual/doctrinal-mastery-core-document?lang=eng

Here is the study manual:https://www.lds.org/bc/content/ldsorg/seminary-institute/13256_000_StudyJournal.pdf

Here is the doctrinal mastery guide that already organizes the scriptures by scripture book and by topic:

2) Gospel Topic essays written by the church. This is a such a great resource for if you want to learn a specific topic.

3)The Guide to the Scriptures. This is a reference I haven't looked into but it looks like it has things and people from the scriptures and describe them by referencing other scriptures.

4) Topical Guide. I've always loved the topical guide in the scriptures because you can look up a word and you find all the scriptures the word is int. It is a great way to learn more about a word. For my scripture study I've looked up the word love to better understand it.

5) Lastly the Bible Dictionary! I like that you can look up words that you don't know. Sometimes I don't find a word and end up looking it up in the Websters dictionary online.
